Pila-Pergamos Checkpoint

The Pila-Pergamos checkpoint is located near the village of Beyarmudu in Northern Cyprus, also known to Greek Cypriots as Pergamos. The border here is between the eastern SBA and the TRNC. Practically, that meant there were no controls leaving the SBA and only a relaxed view of our EU/UK passports on the way back. TRNC controls were as normal. We walked across and the atmosphere was relaxed. There is a SBA marker right by the TRNC control kiosk. I visited this point as part of the IBRG CYBEX-24

From the South

The controls were managed by the SBA and hence had a very UK emphasis.

There is a small bridge across a stream that marks the demarcation line between South and North. TOP TIP take photos as you walk away from control posts where photography is not encouraged. Standing in the south meant photos were straightforward.

From the North

There is less to see when coming from the north with covered booths for passport controls and car insurance purchase.
