Muggia – Cerej Border Crossing

The border between the Italian town of Muggia and it’s Slovenian neighbour Cerej is at the top of a steep hill. Looking north there are good views of Trieste across the bay. Like the Slovenian house observed in Gorica, the border follows the property line, this time of an Italian property. Unlike Gorica where the border markers were decorated with flower pots, here there was broken glass! I visited this point as part of the IBRG SITEX-23 expedition.

The red dots mark the border markers

There are several border markers. Two to the west of the road and three to the east. The ones to the east follow the property line of the Italian house. BM#90 is the beginning of a new numbering sequence.
