Within walking distance of Casino Hotel Carnevale Wellness & Spa, our hotel for the night there was a major north -south border crossing. A busy dual carriage way leading from Trieste in Italy down through Slovenia to Croatia. We explored this point after breakfast before heading to see the Slovenia/Croatia border. There was a border marker, national and local signs to note. The “duty free” shops were situated on the Slovenian side of the border. I visited this point as part of the IBRG SITEX-23 expedition.
