Neutrale Straße, Heringbosch

Neutrale Straße, Heringbosch is one of those strange oddities where borders are in effect ignored. This road follows the border between the Netherlands and Germany with border markers on either side. The map below indicates the border very close to the NATO airbase at Geilenkirchen. I visited this point as part of the IBRG BELEX18 trip.

The border is directly on the road

  1. I’m just missing some courious places. One is:

    https://www.google.de/maps/@50.8468072,6.074243,3a,75y,48.65h,71.11t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sr0pB6_qKPqTSNxBD-4wTuQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu
Because, in fact, the border is in the middle in the road. Unfortunately it cannot seen by the traffic signs, because the Germans buy them in Netherlands, they are cheaper there :D. But un the round-about you see right hand a Dutch bus and on the left hand after the round-about the entry panel for Northrhine-Westphalia and a German Traffic sign (the big yellow one)

    On https://www.google.de/maps/@51.8610746,6.4966662,3a,75y,180.66h,53.95t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1sAF1QipOv044ex00APv1F3cuUnrwxht6triIHWZ4KrCUD!2e10!7i5760!8i2880!9m2!1b1!2i34?entry=ttu
