My focus this month is on completing my reports on the IBRG LIVCO-25 trip in August 2025.

LIVCO-25 was a 10 day trip which visited the Inner German border, the border between Germany and the Czech Republic before focusing on border POI’s around Lake Constance visiting the borders and tripoints of Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland and then finally POI’s between Switzerland and Italy. This month focuses on further reports of the IBRG LIVCO expedition.

LIVCO-25

The third section of the expedition focused on POI’s that border on Italy. These included 4 border crossings, 2 with Austria and 2 with Switzerland and 2 tripoints, one current and one historical. This section is also characterised by beautiful alpine scenery.

European Tripoints

2 further tripoint this month. One current and one historical. The current one is between Austria, Switzerland and Italy and is located at the Resia Pass (2174m) near Piz Lad. The second is the Dreisprachenspitze (Three Language Peak, 2,843m in the Ortler Alps, the historic meeting point of Italian, German, and Romansh languages.), located near the Stelvio Pass. Until the Treaty of Saint-Germain came into effect in 1920, which ceded South Tyrol to Italy, this was the tripoint of The Kingdom of Italy, Austria – Hungarian Empire, and Switzerland.
