DEDKEX-24

A one-day spring trip to the Danish-German border north of Flensburg by the Danish contingent of IBRG. Spring is the best time as there is not yet too much vegetation and the ground is fairly dry after the winter’s snow and rain. For these old border friends, the trip was a happy reunion with well-known places. Also on the trip were two new members who had not been there before, Brian and Eva.

A historical border marker on the old border between Kingdom of Denmark and Dutchy of Schleswig that existed before 1864. Visited in Kolding.

Skomagerhus BM#1

Skomagerhus (in German Schusterkate ) is a border crossing between Denmark and Germany , consisting of a narrow wooden footbridge, Dambroen, over the Krusåen , where it flows into Flensburg Fjord. The bridge also connects the nearby Danish Gendarmstien and the German Fördesteig (Fjord Trail), which runs along the Flensburg Fjord.

It is the easternmost point on the Danish – German border after the establishment of the 1920 border.
