The Shishtavec–Krushevë border crossing at 1400m connects Shishtavec in Kukës County, Albania, with Krushevë in the Dragash municipality of Kosovo. Opened in 2018 and upgraded in 2022 to a 24/7 joint border crossing point (Category B) for citizens of both countries and third-party visitors. There is a good road surface on both sides. The passport and customs facilities exist side by side and relationships appear good. There is a café/restaurant on the top on the Albanian side
I visited this point as part of the IBRG WEBTEX -26 expedition and after visiting the ALKVMK tripoint and nearby border crossings, we decided to see if we could visit the Albanian border too. Due to restrictions with our hire car we were unable to drive into Albania. The border facilities are all in Albania. We arrived and the initial response was one of surprise from the Kosovan border officials. We explained our interest in borders and that we had just visited the tripoint. The official showed us the border area and allowed us to explore and walk into Albania without formal ID checks.
