Website Updates March 2023

After a gap in looking at my website, this month the focus has been on my 2021 trip to the Denmark/German border with fellow members of the International Border Research Group. A secondary focus was working on the architecture of the website with new country and other border information pages Please click on the links within the text for individual reports or the images below.

  3. Report of the visit to Danevirke which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is an ancient frontier earthwork of ramparts and ditches built by the Danes across the neck of Jutland in order to block Frankish expansion into the area. Details here

  9. A visit to the small rural Ubjerg Church that found itself on the wrong side of the new 1920 border despite the vast majority of the local population opting to stay in Germany. The border was drawn 2km to the south. Details here.
